| e-Charge Cable, Type 2-type 3. The cable is made of TPE material and offers high resistance to oil, abrasion, and UV light. The cable remains flexible even at low temperatures. Type 2 sockets are now the EU standard. Vehicles from manufacturers Audi, BMW, Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes, Porsche, Seat, Skoda, Tesla, Volkswagen, and Volvo use Type 2 sockets. The charging process is monitored by bidirectional communication between the vehicle and the charger. After connecting the cable to the vehicle, a self-test is performed to ensure the cable is correctly connected and the vehicle is ready for power. Before charging begins and the cable is energized, the contacts are mechanically locked. This protects against theft and unauthorized use during charging. After charging, unlock the vehicle to open the mechanical lock and first remove the charging cable sideways from the vehicle to disconnect it from the charger.
